I just installed Freewwweb & AOL software on my girlfriend's new laptop. Somehow the software overwrites the top blue bar with Microsoft Internet Explorer provided by freewwweb or Microsoft Internet Explorer provided by AOL. Is there anyway I can edit in registry and get rid of this thing?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions and inputs.

Edit the string values of these two registry entries to change that bar.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Window Title
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Window Title

Wondering if this could be done if you haven't installed Freewwweb's browser. I've tried it with the above reg hack but can't seem to find it under those recommendations. Ideas?

Thanks KB !

I had AT&T WorldNet Service for less than one month a year ago. I hated their service but they overwrote my Reg entries with "Microsoft Internet Explorer provided by AT&T WorldNet Service". I hated seeing that on the title bar.

I looked all over but had no Idea how to get rid of it. Tried your fix and it worked..... Woo Hoo.

BTW.. AT&T had also overwritten the title bar of Outlook Express. I did a search of the registry in the "data" section for AT&T. Found it and changed it. It worked as well.

Thanks again KB
