My parents own a butcher shop and are going on vacation for 10 days, they asked me to stop by 2x a day to check case temps. that's a lot of time, drive time will be a bout 30 minutes round trip, time in store may be 10 minutes or several hours if there is a problem.
there are 3 walk in freezers, 4 deli cases, and 4 reach in coolers I need to know the temperature and preferably a history of it , maybe even the humidity as well.
My first thought was a program called nagios nagios.org and a company makes an external temperature sensor that works with it.

can anyone think of a cheaper method of recording the temperature?:beer:
