Took my motorcycle class this weekend. The weekend portion is from 7 to 4:30 each of Sat and Sun. Its like 100 degrees here in Houston, full on sun, no cloud cover, no breeze, no nothing. Just PAIN.

But I freaking did it!

However, my face is burnt as FUCK. I mean I look like I'm on fire. How can I make the redness go down ASAP, minimize my risk of peeling/getting blisters, etc. etc.?

THanks!

There is nothing you can do. The swelling and pain is a delayed response to the burn you already experienced earlier. The only thing you can do now is cope with the pain. Can't do anything to make it go away. Cold compress plus aspirin is your best bet.

I heard sitting in a car with the air conditioning blasting in front of your neighbors house helps a bit

one time as a kid i got so sunburned in the face that it was embarrassing

so i had my mom show me how to put makeup on to make it less visible for a few days

perhaps you can do the same

Actually if you have a living aloe plant and use the gel directly from a severed leaf this will be especially effective.... far more so then anything from a bottle.

Next time wear a full-face helmet (which you should be doing anyway!) and you won't GET sunburn on your face at all you dummy!

You also are much less likely to get a fractured skull that way! o_O

EDIT: Assuming the entire "motorcycle" thing isn't some "mom's basement" grade fantasy.

Okay guys, i probably shouldn't post this out loud but I have to rant. If we are all joining in on a life insurance policy on saltynuts, why is the payout so low? With all of us on it we hardly get anything. What is the point?

I think it's more about feeling smugly rewarded than the actual monetary portion for me.

Zinc, maybe. Helps my skin heal from cuts or acne - soo, why not sunburn. Report back.
Oh btw, supplemental zinc depletes copper - so there needs to be copper in the zinc supplement too.

For real though, mayonnaise works incredibly well. It sounds funny but it does work. Do it.

This should to the trick and it is available at Costco. Just wear it around town until the sunburn is gone. PERFECT!!

Haven't read this thread but you poor child . . . If I were you, I'd contact the producers of whatever zombie-based shows are still running and tell them that you'd like to appear as a guest. You see, in a day or two, you're going to peeling off huge areas of facial skin. Too bad it's not closer to Halloween.

edit: to answer your question though - morphine.
