As the brits say, my wife's HDD drive took a bonk. I have reinstalled windows on a new HDD,
her original XP home install disks are genuine, but are so dated that they even predate SP1.
To add injury to insult, I am still stuck on dial up, thanks AT&T.
The lone bright spots are (1) I have my own computer with XP pro, fully updated to XP3.
(2) I had a friend with broadband that downloaded what we thought were all the XP updates, and come to find out, they will not work on my wife's computer until its updated to sp2. (3) Even as I type this, I am downloading Sp2, all 285 MB of it, thus far only 7% complete after many hours.
So question, is there a way to take my computer's windows updates, burn them to a cd, and transfer them to my wife's computer? And at least get my wife up to sp2 without the huge hassle of downloading sp2 in its entirety?
