Help help! This stupid sdite changed my search bar!

A few days ago, I was browsing the internet and this stupid site had the gall not only to change my default home page, but now my default search page loads THEIR SITE instead of the default MS search. Does anybody know how i can fix this? It's really irritating.

to change you home page, just click tools-> internet options then on the general page, under the homepage put in what ya want.

Under <Tools><Internet Options> you can chage back your default home page.

What I would do is copy part of the URL that it goes to search to, and search the registry for that keyword. Then change it back to whatever.

If you must know, I wasn't looking at porn. I was searching for a MemTurbo hack so I wouldn't have to download the stupid program over and over and over and over. Unfortunately, the only way to find it was to go to asta.box.sk, which linked me to warez sites, which, as we all know, are generally run by unscrupulous people who want nothing more than a few more hits on their site.

Oh, and I *know* how to change the home page. I need to know what the URL is for the default search page so I change it back (wherever it may be).

It's in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\

The key is SearchURL, but I don't know what the default is...

Thanks worth -- that's what I did.

Here's what I've figured out in addition to what I've already posted:

There are also two entries at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search

Which, apparently, should be:
http://ie.search.msn.com/{SUB_RFC1766}/srchasst/srchcust.htm

Now I just need to know what the default URL is for the SearchURL key. Because I don't have one on my Win95 machine and it was changed on my Win98 box.

I tried that, thanks. And I also tried pasting the other URL (http://ie.search.msn.com/{SUB_RFC1766}/srchasst/srchcust.htm) into my SearchURL key, but now I just get the &quot;Customize Search&quot; setup whenever I click the &quot;Search&quot; button.

Could somebody do me a huge favor and go into their registry and tell me what the URL is at:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL

Ahhh, yes! The URL for the SearchAssistant key at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search needs to be:

http://ie.search.msn.com/en-us/srchasst/srchasst.htm

And that's it.
