hi all... I just switched from a TNT2 to a PNY GF4 ti4400 ....

the system has been ruuning fine and stable for a few week... so today .. when I install the GF4 and then start to play Return to Castle Wolf... then after 10 min or so into the game... the machine "puff !" ..shuts down itself (like someone unplugged it) ... and it just won't come back on now...

I have tried to reset the BIOS... I make sure everything is tie and it just won't come back on again..... .. none of the fans (CPU .. mobo or the VCard) .. none of those fans are turning.....

any idea ? please help ...

here is my config

AMD2000+
Abit KR7A-133
Crucial 256M PC2100
PNY GF4 Ti4400
300W Generic Power

thanks a million !!

doesn't sound like the vid card...sounds like either the power supply went belly up or you fried the mobo....

with just a bad stick of ram, unseated vid card or unseated hsf, even a dead cpu the fans would fire up at least and the mobo would give beep codes....

1) make sure you didn't disconnect the cpu fan wire...some boards will not start if it determined by the board that it is not plugged in....

2) also make sure the power switch connectors to the mobo wasn't hit as well...

3) look for any places the mobo could be shorting..

300watt may have just been fine with out setup, but add a power hungry GF4 card and "poof" so to speak...

unplug power supply and let it sit a bit and then try again....likely it is toast...at least sounds more like a power issue

humm... so those new ATX power supply .. is there anyway to turn it on without using the mobo ? .. then at least I can use a volt-meter to see if the PS is still good...

does it sound like i fried the mobo ? (how could this be by just adding a new VCard?)

of you think the PS just went dead ?

pls pls help .. :(

well it's cheaper if you try to get a psu, if still no power
than you can RMA the board. actually if you have any friend
who can lend you his/her PSU to try out will be the best idea,
that way you don't have to spend the money for the PSU
if you don't need it.

well good thing it's "only" the PSU
'cause you have such a nice system already

good luck
