I just got my system hooked togther and everything is set up right. After it boots up it says verifying dmi data pool then says boot disk failure, please insert system disk. I put the boot floppy that came with my hdd in and the boot disk for win 98 and the win 98 cd. It jsut keeps saying that. What do I need to do? Do I need to format the hdd in another computer?

Make sure the cables are correct and that the hdd is set to master, etc.

Make sure you have the correct boot order in the bios

Kick it a few times, see if that helps.

hm.. i coulda sworn i posted...
my question was do you have the OS installed already or in the process of trying...

if already installed, go to bios and set the boot sequence to HDD first to make sure your computer isn't trying to boot off a disk and not swicthing over to HDD when disk is not present... if not, then i think re0installing the OS should fix it...

if you haven't installed windows yet, and its a new system... did you create a primary dos partition and format your drive? windows will not install unless this is done..,

hope this helps or at least gets you started...
