Help: Hearing HD noises through speakers -

Title pretty much says it all - while listening to mp3s, everytime I the HD spins up, I hear a cracking noise from the speakers. For instance, it'll crack when I scroll down a webpage. The cracking is low but really annoying. Yamaha 55MTs - usb option only on win2k.

any suggestions is appreciated.

I had a similar problem with my old rig. My Vortex 2 sound card would pick up the HD spin. After switching to a SB Live!, the crackle would dissappear. Did you try a different soundcard? Maybe moving it to another slot?
