Ok so my friend gave me his old computer, but he reformatted before he gave it to me. I dont have windows so I had to give it to another friend to install windows for me. But before I did that I checked bios, and it said the HD was ~6Gb. So today I got the computer from the friend with windows installed, but it is saying I have only 2 gb of space. Help please.

If it says msdos 6, it sounds like the drive has been formatted fat 16, which means it can only see 2 gig. If it was formatted fat 32 it would see the whole drive.

Looks like your friend reformatted the drive using DOS which has a 2GB limit. Did he perhaps make more than one partition. Do you have a D: maybe.
