HELP Hard modding Asus 6800GT to Quadro FX4000

Hey all,

Just got a 6800GT in hopes I could mod it up to a quadro. its a rev. 1.01 card so I think it should be possible. The layout isn't the same as the newbietech guide shows. Any help or links to a guide for the Asus 6800GT would be appreciated.

The card is PCI Express, 256 MB variety.

Please link to the newbietech guide so we can understand what you're trying to do. I'm pretty sure that the architecture of gaming video cards and Quadros are completely different. Maybe you mean modding the card to use a Quadro cooler?

Nope the architecture is actually pretty similar. Actualy, workstation graphics cards are usually based on consumer cards.

Hard mod isn't necessary
All you need is a bios flash!

opps Nope you have PCI-E.

You can not hardmod or biosmod. You can only use rivatuner to turn on quadro abilities. It has something to do with the AGP to PCI-E bridge chip holding the ID of the card or something to that nature.

If you use a program like specviewpref to test before and after

1) Run benchmark
2) Install Rivatuner
3) Install NVStrap
4) Click Allow professional/Quadro abilitys
5) restart
6) Run benchmark again.

Wait so if i get a 6800GT agp, then I can actually turn it into a quadro 4000?

I'm not too sure about this guy's instructions... his english is rather sketchy. Can someone explain to me in detail please?

Oh and banshee, you said that the hardmod isn't necessary? please explain


Oh yeah, and does it matter if the 6800GT is asus, leadtek, bfg or whatever?

What about uninstalling/installing quadro drivers instead of geforce drivers.
