HELP!!!!!Hard Drives not recognised!

Hi. A routine procedure has turned into a nightmare. This morning I installed rounded IDE cables for all my IDE drives. No problem. I started the computer up and things seemed quite slow, but Windows XP loaded up.

I restarted the computer, and this is where the problems started.

The BIOS is only recognising the DVD ROM and CDRW, my hard drive is not being recognised. Further to this, I have a Maxtor hdd on a Promie IDE controller card which also cannot be accessed all of a sudden.

I have checked all the jumpers for the drives and reattached all the cables, yet the hard drives are still not recognised.

When i just tried one IDE channel with the DVD ROM and CDRW as master and slave respectively, only the DVD ROM is recognised.

I have accessed both the hard drives on another PC which proves that they are at least operational.

I am really stuck as what to do, I have no idea what might be wrong now. PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks

My Abit board did not like my rounded cables either.
I went back to stock cables and alls fine.
So manufacturers do not make quality rounded cables.

Nope they dont seem to change anything, just thinking that the cables may have been defective...and that they have damaged my board.
