My dad bought a new HP Media Center Computer recently...came with a 120gb 5400r 2mb cache hdd. I advised him that his computer would be 20% faster if he upgraded to a 120g, 7200rpm, 8mb cache hdd and he believed me.... I ordered one for him and he said I could have the old HD.. ON ONE CONDITION: all of this files are transferred to his new hd and he doesn't have to mess with any updates / setting changes... etc. Help me out here folks. I figure I have to install the new hdd first, transfer all of the files from one to another, and make it work somehow.

go to the hard drive maker's website and download their new disk utility, it almost always has an image copier that copies one hard drive to the other.

failing that, powerquest drive copy or symantec ghost will do the job for you!
