Alright, I went to the Nissan dealer today and we made a deal. I convinced him to deal with me even though I would not buy it right then and there. I currently have a $200 deposit down on both Nissan Sentras. They are both Nissan Sentra GXEs. One has the road trip package with the 7 speaker upgraded 180watt system and cruise control and the other is just a regular black GXE. They both come standard w/ power everything and keyless entry. I got the dealer to come down to $13700 for the regular GXE and $14000 for the one with the road trip package. Does this sound good? Is it reasonable and should i buy it??.....

Assuming that it's an automatic transmission, and brand new, then I'd say go with the one with the road trip package assuming that you want it. At the price you are getting it at, it's only a couple hundred above invoice. Not a bad deal for you, and he still makes some bucks off of you.

If you really need two brand-new cars right now, I do think the Sentra is a great choice for its class. The prices are pretty good but then again you SHOULD be getting a hell of a deal if you are buying two cars from this dealership.

I don't know exactly what your situation is, but have you considered getting at least one used car? You could even get a used 2000 Sentra GXE (there have been very few changes since then) for less than $10K, and then you'd have a lot more to throw at the second car.

You might be able to work out a better deal too. I'm sure he wouldn't want to risk losing two sales :)

yes, i need two cars......personal reasons (they aren't both for me!)

So does anybody that has recently bought Sentras know......i prefer a new car because of problems and repairs with used ones (i don't have time for those type of problems)

I bought a brand new Sentra last September for about $14000 (out the door). It's also a GXE, with automatic transmission, power everything and keyless entry. It was a 2001 model though. Not sure about 2002 model, but I guess this might give you a better idea. I'm in southern California by the way.

By out the door do you mean including tax, tag, and title? I still got to pay that on both cars and a $500 dealer fee which is everywhere. Both of these are also automatic trans......and by the way did you get the extra package? Anybody else.....(im in florida by the way).....?

Yeah, out the door means the amount I have to pay include all the tax, title, document fees etc. I paid $14218.10 to be exact. I didn't have the road trip package. Remember though, when I bought it, it was like the end of the 2001 model year, so it was cheaper than usual. For your 2002 model, it could be a different story. Anyway, hope this helps.
