help! GRUB loader won't go away!

it just stayed there, even after the "fdisk /mbr" method.
I've even tried to installed LILO to overwrite it and then removing LILO, but the darn GRUB thing reappeared after i remove LILO. any idea guys? it's driving me nuts. :frown:

btw, this was done by LYCORIS linux (aka Redmond Linux)
I've used Mandrake and Redhat before and their loaders all can be uninstalled.

i only have one (physical) drive.
everytime i install a new loader, it'll load hte new one, but when i remove the new one, it'll always default back to GRUB .5, no matter if i try the fdisk mehtod a hundred times, it's just there!
🙁
