i got this nasty adware ..

it randomly every ~20 minutes displays banner adds overlay .. (see attached)
and i sometimes FULL screen! when i click the "i" icon it says "adds by google" and clicking takes me to https://www.google.com/ads/preferences/html/mobile-about.html

wow

I am so careful with all my installs .. all are from google play

#1 how did i get it .... so i / others do not get it .. really currious if I can trace it down ..

attached is a screenshot of my latest installs ... but I had no new installs for some days .. but started just today .. maybe dormant/trojan ? here are my latest installs..

#2 what is best way to get rid of it?

there is a "opt out" link that takes me to http://tracker.tpc.re/optout/mobile...iwic3BvdCI6ImFwcGxh dW5jaCIsImxhbmciOiJlbiJ9

should I install some anti virus / anti adware ? which ?

option a) install their app
http://tracker-mercury.tpc.re/themes/tracker/optout-app-v-1.2.apk
yeah right!

option b) give them my

IMEI + MEID + ESN

how/ why would they want it?

what could they do with it?

please advise ..

thabk you so much ..

I can almost guarantee some free app, assuming you did only download from the Play Store, is doing all this.

Likely an imposter app, you have two of the same thing in your "recent" installs.

^ This, it's a crappy app that you installed.

Does it ever pop something on your notification drawer? If so, hold it down for a few seconds and it will popup what application it is.

Do you have any wallpaper apps? I'm guessing that's where it came from.

Also, it's probably hooked into your browser. Try seeing if it's present using an alternative browser like Firefox.

I'd probably reset anyway, just to be safe, but avoid downloading apps you don't need to weed out which app it was next time.
