Help, got fade up with this virus

I downloaded a file from different computer & it started. The virus or ? makes a copy of the 44kb application with the folder name inside the folder. Also it is making copy on desktop with desktop name. Then start menu folders every folder has the same 44kb application with the same folder name. Also it doesn't let me run mscoig.exe.

First the folder options are gone, then something weird is going on in the background.

Please if anybody know, tell me what to do?
I tried installing symantec antivirus, it installed but when I scan, it says completed.
It also not allowing me to Liveupdate the virus definations.

It's really not easy to tell what's going on from your message. My suggestion: download and install Avast!. During installation it will ask if you want to scan the system on the next boot. Check the box (or answer yes, whatever, I forget), and then when the install is complete restart the system. Avast will scan during the boot and give you options to handle any infected files it finds.
