So Im looking at getting a new car, well used but new to me at least......

Im wanting to spend around 10k, but will go slighly more to get a deal on something nice.

I want something that is dependable but sporty.
It must be a convertable, no t-tops or hard-tops.
I would like something that is supercharged, if I go with an import turbochargers are ok.....

As for age of the car 94 or newer is what Im looking for.

I know some of these requirments may be pushing is for my budget, but I know if I lookhard enough I can find something that fits it.

I have found a few supercharged 95 5.0 mustang .verts for 10k, but all those are in Cali. and im in NC...... I need to find some local stuff so I can look at it first.

Thanks,
Josh

Get a old muscle car and spend the difference restoring it.

Then you won't have a car just like everybody else's. I know that's not what you want to hear, but seriously.

Or check out 96'ish Maximas...

camaro, trans-am lt1 (lil outta your range i think), 300zx, 240zx, 3000gt (convertible???)

actually, are any of those cars convertible? i know the camaro is, but thats about all i know.

WTF duroc? double post, and your second post is empty, and was never edited?

Convertible Camaro Z28/TransAm... cheap enough, you can find plenty, and easy to modify/supercharge with remaining cash.

The convertibles really limit the selection...

OK First off I should have stated this.....

No restoring, I want this to be good to run and look good when I get it. Some MINOR work is acceptable as I know its not gonna be perfect.
I have my 92 5.0 to work on now :p

BUT, I do not want a Camaro, or a Firebird......

Lots of Camaros and TransAm's LT1's can be found for under 10k, LS1s are possible in the 10k range, but expect high miles, or something.

300zx's had few convertibles, but IMO, the mustang/camaro would be a better choice... more power, cheaper, and easier to work on.

240sx and 3000gts were never convertibles...

Ah... a ford fanboy ;)

Sorry, I think you're pretty much stuck to a Convertible Mustang. I honestly can't think of a quick convertible other than the F-Bodies/Mustangs for under 10k thats worth the price tag.

EDIT: A Miata? Haha :)

Anybody else think that the expectations\demands of some of these "I want a perfect car for very little money" threads are a bit unrealistic?

LOL, I am not a ford fanboy :p..... Well sorta :). LOL, A miata my friend has one of those, acutally 2, but little car. Yep cute, they look to girly to me...

I am about set on a mustang convertible though, even before I posted this thread.

I found a nice 95 supercharged 5.0 convertible GT on ebay for 10,000 BIN. But its in california. If it was local and I could check it out I would be all over it...... Its just how I want it too black exterior with black top.... Here, If anybody who knows squat about cars lives near here and could check it out that would be awsome..... I just couldnt buy a car I didnt see first I dont think.

I didn't say I wanted a perfect car..... I want something that is going to run look good, and require little work. I dont mind replacing some interior parts or putting on a new alternator and stuff. I just dont want to have to repaint the car and expensive/time consuming things like that.

EDIT: Ohh and if you don't like my thread stay the hell outta it ;) K, Thx

I would look at a Camaro or Firebird, late 95 or newwer. If you want little sporty then get one with the Buick 3.8L 200Hp V-6. Fast and decent milage for the power it gives. Also will not hurt as much as a V8 would on insurance or gas.

edit.
Whoops just saw you are a Ford-Fanboy, good luck finding a used Convt. V8 mustang that has not been ragged here or even near NC. And the V6 in the mustang is WAY to weak for that car

Bah my insurance is cheap for me, less than 50 a month on my 5.0, im 20 BTW.

V6 is not good enough I need the V8 rumble.... :p..... and as I said Camaro/Firebirds are out, I just dont like the styling of them.

There are plenty of V6's which have more power than that 5.0 :).

Though, as always... there is no replacement for displacement.

Ohh I know ;)...... But I could never be satisfied with a V6........ I never said the 5.0 was fast BTW ;).... But its fast enough. I would like to pick up something with slightly more ummmpf though :p.....

None with the aftermarket of the venerable 302 :D

Don't you already drive a Mustang (v6)?

The Nissan 3.5 (350z/g35/maxima) would be pretty close... that 3.5 seems to be available on every car Nissan puts out aside from the Sentra... I know the newer V6 Accords have 240hp, not sure about its aftermarket though since its a pretty new engine. But I agree with you on the aftermarket potential, with a large engine, and its been out forever in mass quantities, its aftermarket is huge (and best of all... cheap!).

As far as driving a Mustang, If you are refering to him, he said he already drives a 92 5.0. As for me, I drive "The Urn".

Give up on the presupercharged bit and you can find v8 stang verts left and right. Just use the money you saved by not buying one with a supercharger and buy a supercharger and have somebody install it since you don't want to do any of the work.
