They're destroying my Garden. I've tried smoke bomb but they survived and it's a pain in the butt digging for those holes.
Any experienced Golpher assasins around here?

You need two or three small, angry terriers. Just the thing for routing vermin. ;)

he's not sh!tting, thats the best way. next best way is traps, theres this cage like device that will chop their heads off if they decide to pop their head from out there hole works quite well.

I have heard that spraying the area with castor oil may do the trick with moles. I don't know if it works with gophers or not.

The problem with automated systems like that is there's always the danger of catching your cat, the neighbor's dog, or (even worse) your neighbor's little kid.

If you're going to use traps, make sure they're covered so they're not accessible. Turn a wheelborrow upside down over it, or something, but make sure you don't hurt anything other than what you intend to.

That's the nice thing about the shotgun, it's quite effective and completely safe.

That's why you use live traps. Catch something in it - if it's a cat, you let it go. If it's a gopher, you shoot it.

Go to home depot and spend $1.50 on a leg trap, look for the freshest dirt pile and follow the instructions.

I heard on the radio that some people in Texas are doing what they called
Gopher "Fishing".

You get your fishing rod and make a slip knot in the end. Put the circle fishing
line around the gopher holeand go wait. When he stands up, yank and reel.

Never tried it, sounds messy.

I like to go for the trap, but I can't find any holes. don't know if they're moles or gophers though.
How wide are the tunnels they're making? Mole's make tunnels about the width of a baseball that poke above the ground.

If they're moles, there's a couple ways to get rid of them, one of them I'm 99% sure you can't do (because you live in PRC where it's probably illegal). The option you could use is to go to a gardening center and get some Milky Spore. Apply that to your yard and it'll kill the grubs the moles feed on primarily. It's quite expensive though. The second option is an industrial grub killer called "Counter," but the average person can't buy it and it's a little dangerous. It gets in any worms/grubs in the yard where it was applied and kills whatever eats them. Birds included.

If the burrows are bigger then that (like a hole a little bigger than a softball, then it's probably gophers or woodchucks/groundhogs. When used properly, smoke bombs are VERY effective on woodchucks as long as they're in their dens. You have to find both holes (they have an entry and an exit) and bury on of them. Light the smoke bomb, toss it in the other entry and cover it quickly before the smoke bomb goes off. I usually try and hike the smoke bomb as far down into the burrow as possible as well as standing there with a shovel and covering up any leaking points.

Make sure you're getting the special smoke bombs for killing woodchucks too, your 4th of july ones won't work.

pour some pee in the tunnel

other than that traps are the only things that seem successful.
I got lucky one day I usually flood the holes so one day I saw the ground moving, flooded the hole and the mole came out...the thing was friggin huge! about 8 inches long. now I have a gopher travelling through the mole tunnels.

Out here in the wild west we use rattle snakes, catch a couple and stick them down the holes. they will get them.
