they've tried adaware and windowsupdate's malicious software removal tool but it's still acting up. Popups and random IE shutdowns. Any other options aside from a full reinstall of Windows? It's on a laptop so I'm not sure how easy that would be.
 
msconfig...remove anything funky from start up. Kill the associated processes and reboot. Do this while off the network.
