heyas,

i recently bought a new system and windows xp... so of course i lost the product key since it was on the plastic it came in (oem). anyway, im trying to install win98se for now until i get a new key. 98 installs fine but when i go to start it for the first time it needs to install all the drivers.. .etc... well, for example it'll ask for the mobo cd for the ethernet drivers (a7n) so ill put that in then it will ask for the win98 cd... and ill put that in, but neither of the cd's have what the computer is looking for. this will happen with all off the drivers it's looking for. anyone ever have this problem?

Lost XP key? Did you reformat or did it lock after the 30days? My question is- is XP still on the rig.
If not do as EmperorIQ suggested.

You probably have to browse to the correct directory on the cd for the drivers i.e. d:\drivers\ethernet\win98, d:\drivers\audio\win98.
