Hello all,

I have been using a D-Link DWL-650+ AirPlus wireless card and it is supposed to run at 22mbps, but everytime I connect to a 54mb wireless router g it still only connects at 11mbps. I know uping it to 22mbps won't make my internet connection any faster, but for transfers between LAN it should.

I've looked all around trying to find some sort of settings to change this but have come up w/ nothing. Anyone else have a simliar problem? I've already downloaded the newest drivers and stuff.

Running WinXP Pro.

Thanks!

Most likely your "G" router does not support 22mbs. This is a proprietary thing that requires channel bonding. I think you need the 614+ to use this.

basically what amdfanboy said, for the dlink airplus network cards, to get the 22mbps speed you need a Dlink Airplus router.

The 22Mb/sec. Card is only compatible with 22Mb/sec. D-Link Wireless (like the 900AP+).

It is Not upward or downward compatible.

D-Link 802.11g or and 802.11gSuper is Not compatible with the 22Mb/sec. Mode.

The extra Modes like 22Mb/sec. and SuperG are chipset dependable the chipsets are Not the same on all D-Link hardware.

P.S. It is Not a D-Link specific issue, all the Entry Level Network Hardware behave this way when it is a specific ?Gimmick? that is Chipset dependable.
