:(

Installed XP on new comp, everything going smoothly. I didn't install any drivers off any CDs because XP seemed to find everything for all my hardware. On top of it all, I can't install some drivers because it won't recognize XP - it says "This isn't win 2k!! This isn't win 98!" Running tests, weird results..Sandra said I had no OPENGL and it's using software.
I installed Q2 and checked the console after I selected open GL, and it said it's using "Microsoft D3D", nothing about GeForce. I also noticed my refresh changed to 60 FPS in q2, because a "timerefresh" command capped me at 60...at resolutions that I shouldn't be capped at 60. So the gainward geforce3 cds say it has OPEN GL ICD on them and I can't find it...does anyone else have a geforce3 in winXP and know how to get the OPEN GL ICD from somewhere?

Any thoughts on this sandra saying I have no OPENGL and it saying microsoft D3D for a driver? With my voodoo it would always say "voodoo 5" or "Voodoo 3"...I don't think microsoft D3d is right =/

EDIT:
I ran 3dmark 2001 and scored 5850 though...what the heck? Somebody please explain to me where I can find "OPENGL" to download (sounds hilarious..)..but it seems to be using a software driver for opengl (can it do that?) ..confused.
Thanks for any help,
ELmO

XP ships with barebones Nvidia drivers. Grab Nvidia's Win2K drivers, version 12.41 or later, and you'll have OpenGL.

Hmm i have a max FPS setting at 100 in quake 2, and timerefresh is still giving me 60 FPS with vsync on or off within the game. Is there a geforce3 setting thats capping me at 60 FPS?

Ack.
