When formatting my hard disk I get a "format 100% complete". Then " Error writting partition table. Format termated" I can't format the drive to install a OS.Also it say that there may be a built in virus- protection or virus-protected software that should be disabled. Where do I start?

Go into your BIOS and see if there is any setting for virus protection or protection the boot sector. These setting should be turned off when you want to partition.

also, when you format do it like format c: /u "<---means unconditional" and it will wipe all the old boot info off the drive...make your drive nice a squeaky clean! :)
