Its about that time to clean up my HDD, and I was going to format it, but I can't get my floppy to work. Its detected in My Computer and Hardware devices manager, but when I put a disk in and double click it in My Computer, the light goes on, but it doesn't make the noise like when it accesses the disk. I'm going to use a bootable CDROM, but I need to make sure my floppy works so that i don't have to fiddle around with it at school.

Thanks

Edit: Dang, I thought I put it in the Tech Support Forum. Oh well, I'll post it over there too.

Man, you made me click all the way for that?

Booting from the CD Rom won't work either. I have a Tekram SCSI and Promise U66 card. WTF is going on.

Try flipping arond the IDE cables...
Dat's all I can think of, anything after that is beyond my knowledge :)

Yeah, first try flipping the cables around as SexE suggested. If that doesn't work, try hooking up another floppy drive to the same cable. Still doesn't work? Try with another cable (rare, but could be the cable). If all else fails, comit hari-kari.. er, I mean your motherboard's connecter is probably disfunctional. You'll need to either buy an IDE PCI card, with floppy ports, or a new motherboard.. Good luck! :)
