HELP! Flashed MOBO with wrong bios!

I was trying to update my bios so i could increase my hard disk to 30 gig on an old Biostar Pentium II FX chipset. I thought I had the right bios, so i flashed it. Now my computer just makes a low pitched beep at long intervals. no memory access. no screen. no floppy access. just a beeping noise. Is there anyway to reverse this? Or have I just ruined my mobo and need to replace it or get a new bios chip.

You'll need either a new bios chip or do a "hotflash" w/ someone who has the same board. I've done both and know what I speak of. 🙂

As long as there are some power going into that board to produce those beep codes, there's a slight chance that you can still recover from it by reacting to those "beeping noise". Read up on the beep codes for your motherboard and check out the manufacturers' support page (if available).

Here's a good site for bios related help.

Good luck. (Kind of give you a new perspective on "if it ain't broke..." phrase doesn't it?)
