So i had unleashX installed on my xbox and i renamed xboxdash to msdash, then the console wouldnt boot back into a dash after that, so i left it for months came back to find out i had error 16 now. I have tried hotswapping dozens of times and am not sure im doing it right, or that it will work.
Heres what i do:
1.)Unplug xbox DVD drive to ensure it boots to an error 12, which i believe leaves the HDD unlocked. I do not quickly unplug the HDD i let it boot up like normal and after a little bit i unplug the HDD, should I unplug the HDD after a certain point?
2.)Turn on the computer and immediatley hit pause/break before it searches for any drives.
3.)Plug IDE cable from my computer into the xbox HDD, then hit space.
4.)Let it boot into XboxHDM 1.9 and wait a minute
5.)I hit one, but here is where my troubles start, after i hit one to boot into VGA console it goes through a list of operations its performing and after it recognizes my drive it gives me a BUNCH of errors:
drive ready seek complete error
this is the most prominent one but after that one there is another error that says somthing about status. But it never says that the drive is locked. it also says it cannot communicate to sector 0,2,4,6. Im assuming that its not dead since those are sequential (for even numbers).
6.)Then after a few minutes it gets to the bottom of its list of thins to do and says initializing USB controller assigning it to port 1, but then it freezes.
Thats where i lave off, i have no idea what im doing wrong. I followed these tuts:
