So, we're looking to formally rename an organization with a rather poorly conceived moniker.
SCROUNGE or, as it currently is fully written out, "Students for Computer Recycling to Offer UNderrepresented Groups in Education".
As you can see, this makes NO FVCKING sense, but it's been the name for TEN years and nobody's noticed until now. Unfortunately, all documentation and memories of who the hell is responsible for that idiocy is lost to time. We are officially working to fix that acronym so it makes some sense. We can get close with all kinds of things. At this point, our best contender is
"Students for Computer Recycling to Outfit UNderrepresented Groups in Education"
but we strongly dislike the use of underrepresented because it's too long, too complicated, and makes the whole damn thing look like an afterthought. Also, we don't like the doubling up of U and N, because if you write it out in certain ways, you have the N dangling out there, and there have been numerous juvenile defacements involving a certain racial slur which, amusingly enough, makes sick sense if you put it in there.
So, if anyone else has any brilliant ideas, or if anyone can think of something that makes sense to replaced Underrepresented with two words starting with U and N, that would rock.
Oh, and in case you can't figure it out from the names (haha), the organization essentially recycles used computer equipment and returns it to the community for use in educational and non-profit institutions.
