Hi all.. My PCI-E 7800GT CO SE just arrived from a boxing day sale, and I am just installing it into my new motherboard, but am a bit confused about the power source.

It is powered through one of these:

POWER SOURCE

But I am so low on free MOLEX spots from my PSU already, do BOTH ends of the MOLEX need to be plugged into the PSU, or just one? This is gonna be really annoying if both need to be plugged in, but I need to make sure

Thanks all

Hi, I'm guessing that the guy that made the adaptor intended to have a male molex and a female molex and not two males. That would have let you use one molex and not lose the use of the one the adaptor is plugged into. Maybe? Jim

If you're buying such a high-end video card why don't you get a decent PSU with native 6-pin PCI-e connectors? It relies on the adapter, some allow you to 'get-away' with just one, others don't. They're using two to lower the amound of resistance, and allow you to use two seperate molex lines, because GPUs take a lot of power.
