I was at an F1 race this weekend and took a few photos and videos with my Samsung Pixon. These photos and videos were saved to my phone memory. When I got home, I transferred these files from the phone memory to the SD card in my phone to transfer them to my laptop. To my surprise, ALL photos I took on that day AND photos I took before were gone. What's even weirder is that OLD, deleted photos resurfaced to replace my new files.

When I inserted my SD card into my laptop, I was told to format it. I did so,reluctantly, and used MANY kinds of data recovery software to get my files back. All I got were the old files.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me with this! I really want my photos and videos back! :'(

I think if you delete photos without using the camera, you can run into problems. Same thing with formatting. Did you happen to put the card back into the camera, and see if you could access the files before you formatted the card? I don't think I would try that now, as everything that writes to the card will make recovery more problematic, and who knows what the camera will do with the card now.

Now that the card is formatted with the laptop, I would try R-Studio to see if I could access the files. You can see if accessing the files is possible with the free download, but to actually recover will cost around $75 for a license.
