Hey guys,

My fan recently died on my GeForce, I tried to replace it but couldn't find a small enough fan to fit on. So, I cut the fan out.

Question: Do you really need a fan on the card? If so, what should I do? Right now I'm running without the case on just to be safe.

Thanks

If you're talking about an original Geforce (256), then you really should get a replacement. This chip dissapates a lot of power and thus runs very hot. Later versions (MX, GF2, et al) use a different process which runs a lot cooler. You really should get a replacement fan (there are quite a few readily available, and most work better than the manufacturer provided ones. Otherwise, your system may become unstable.
