help errors all over!!!!!! got it bad ram

Every time I try to do anything on the computer it comes up with a error or a protection fault I thought it was the HD so I replaced it


the machine is

198 meg ram
matrox 2d video
vodoo 2 3d acellorator
maxi sound game theater 64 sound card
netgear 10/100 nic
wd 8 gig 5400 rpm HD
or I tried a quattom fireball 4 gig HD
trying to run win 98 se

sounds like you could have some heat instability but if you suspect ram, pull it all out but one stick and see if you still have trouble
