I posted this in Technical Support but haven't gotten anyware.
I'm getting an error message that reads: msiexec.exe/rundll32.exe-application error.
I get this error when I try to install an .exe file and even things like opening system
properties. I can hardly run anything windows related. It's not affecting games or
programs that are already installed or obviously the internet. I did a google search
and it came up with a windows installer component problem.
I know it's not a virus or worm because I keep norton, adaware, spybot and
spywareblaster updated and ran everything with nothing coming up.
Windows XP is up to date and I use zone alarm pro. Any help would be great.
I really dont want to reinstall windows because I can't do a big enough
backup with my dvd burner. Is it possible it is a hardware problem like
memory ?
 
Yes but it did nothing. I have reinstalled windows and everything is back
to normal. Thanks for your response.
