Hey guys I really hope someone could shed some light on this issuse. I tried searching and didn't seem to find much info. The system specs are as follows:
Antec Super LanBoy with Antec Trublue 480 PS
Epox 9NDA3 MB (latest bios)
Athlon 3000+
1 gig of Super Talent PC3200 CAS 2
Maxtor 160 GB HD (ATA133)
NEC 3520A
I set the system up and get Win XP SP2 setup along all my programs. Once everything was set I decided to see what this chip is capable of doing. I set the Memory to 100 SPD along with HT to 3X and a bus speed of 280mhz. Chip booted into Windows great with a V Core of 1.45. System was tested with F@H running in the background along with several runs of 3D Mark 01 and 03. Temps after 30 minutes climbed up 49C and seems to be stablized. The processor is running between 39-41C at idle. I was a little concerned about the temps however the room is quite warm, around 70F. The system seems to be stable, so I decided to see what this ram is willing to give. According to CPUID, the ram at SPD was 200mhz 2-3-3-7. The ram seemed to work great at it's normal PC3200 timings and its default 2.6V. Since I am running the FSB @280mhz, I decided to set the ram timing to 133, which should result in timing of 184mhz. The system will not boot and hangs at the bios. I tried increasing the voltage to 2.8V (boards max), and still have no luck. I am confused as to why the ram can't run below its rated timings, as it functioned 100% @ 200mhz with the said timings. As I am typing this the ram is currently clocked @ 140mhz with timings of 2-2-2-5-7, according to the memory tab in CPU-Z. Anyone have any ideas?
