help: enclosure (bytecc) and dvd burner (NEC) problem

Today I just got bytecc enclosure, USB 2.0 model. And also got dvd burner NEC ND 2510A. This is for hooking up to my dell laptop.

Problem is, I can burn CD but I can't burn DVD. I would get message "SCSI command aborted" then the burning stops.... I use Nero 6 Ultra to burn..

My laptop supports USB 2.0. the OS seems ok with both the enclosure and the burner. I tried burning at 8x, 6x, 4x, and 2x. all gave the same problem.

What is the problem? the items are DOA?

some are having issues and returning this enclosure but you say you are successful with CD burning..so...list your Dell model/system specs if you would..gl 🙂
 
i'm connecting it to dell inspiron 600m. it's an intel centrio 1.4ghz system with 512MB RAM.

So let's say I return this set up... what should I get instead? I really want a DVD burner.
