Help! Easy RAID Question.

disable the controller or disable the RAID and use it as ATA100 device?
disabling the controller you can do it on the bios. to use it as ATA100 device
i'm not sure, some mobo has jumper near the raid chip. gluck.

I've recently got a GA-7VRXP, and I have plugged a cd-rom in one of the raid controller ports with no problem. There is a setting in the bios with 3 options: Disable/RAID/ATA133 so the obvious thing is to set it to ATA133. You have to take into account though that in order for the OS to see it you have to install the drivers.

You could, but it's not recomended, RAID controller is designed to work with ATA66 or greater while your CD-ROM is ATA33.
Usually what it does when you have CD-ROM in there is keep triying to access the CD-ROM like your CD led is always blinking eventhough you are not touching anything on your keyboard.
