Everytime ive been playing Doom III so far it will randomly freeze up and look exactly like the included picture link. Im pretty sure its my video card, but I dont see why it would be doing this considering I have the newest drivers.

Anyone have an idea of what could be wrong? Thanks

Specs:

Epox 8rda+ REV: 1.1
Athlon XP 2400+
80gb WD Caviar
512mb Kingston HyperX 2700
ATI Radeon 9600 Pro (UPDATED DRIVERS)
all settings are at default for the vid card, and im playing DIII at Medium Quality, 8x6, all eye candy on and 4x AA

OMG teh bitmap! :Q

You should JPEG that image unless you want to bring down your campus server.

It looks like a video problem, but it's impossible to tell based on that screenshot.

Have you been messing around with the doomconfig.cfg file? What do you mean by "updated drivers"? 4.7 catalyst? DirectX version?

I don't know what to suggest beyond trying out the Cat 4.9b drivers. Make sure you run driver cleaner.

My friend had the exact same problem with a 9800pro and Cat 4.7
Probably it's a driver issue. He said that he was going to give 4.9b a try. I'll try to contact him 2morrow to see what has he done with that issue and I'll give you some feedback.
