Im trying to put up a descent sound system in my work out room in basement, i got a Sony STR-DH510 reveiver now i just need a sub and speakers. So i got a few questions... Does my receiver output need to be enough watts to power the sub or since the sub will be plugged in can i get any sub i want? Also do u have any you recomend. Looking at spending under 200, is this any good and would it work with my receiver BIC America Venturi V1020 Subwoofer? Also im in need of speakersonce again under 200 would be great. are these any good?... JBL NSP1. Sorry i know nothing about this so any advice is welcomed greatly!!!!!!

I'd suggest reading the stickied thread at the top here as a good guide, skipping the sections that you don't need.

Most subs are powered subs, so they have their own amplifier. Only passive subs use the receiver to power it, which are not as common and not preferred.

Good luck - I don't know much about subs in the under $200 range.
