help: does the rio500 take 256mb smartmedia??

question: currently i have a diamond rio 500 mp3 player with a 128mb smart media with the latest firmware and it works. can it read 256 smartmedia?

i had one, im not sure but i know you can get different 'backpacks' for it. hope you find your answer.

A Rio500 use Smartmedia, not "Back Packs" like the Rio600 and the Rio800.

AFAIK, the 500 can only read 128 meg and under Smard media cards but I'm not positive

umm... does 256 smartmedia even exist? It's on its way, i know... but even so, you'll need a firmware update on the rio to support it, which is unlikely to happen since it's so old. but who knows, if enough ppl email sonicblue, they might give it a shot..
