Help - do I have a bad memory stick?

Did a POST on my new build with a Epox 8K5A2+ board and my Corsair XMS2700 512MB is being read by the BIOS as a PC2100 module. DRAM speed and clock are set in BIOS to "BY SPD". Looked at Corsair's FAQ and they do program the SPD of the XMS2700 to 2700.

So does this mean that I have a bad module or is this due to some setting on the BIOS?

Are you running the latest bios?
If you can, test it with a processor or system that runs at a 166mhz bus, if it runs don't worry.
