Help! Diablo 2 wont start under D3D using my My Elsa Gladiac geforce2 card!

I went and downloaded the latest drivers nvidia provide (detonator 3 i think) and Diablo 2 will only load under 2D. Anyone out there was able to run diablo 2 under using the d3d drivers?

Thanks

Works in D3D on a Radeon. I dont have the game but was over a friends yesterday that does have it. It was running in D3D. I didn't look all that close, but I didn't notice any Glide options.

Give more information about your system and what version of the detonators you are using. It is hard to diagnose without more info.

When I installed the beta 10.5 nvidia drivers (stereo support!), Diablo would not
startup either. switched back to 6.50 and problems gone. must be your drivers.

why would u want to run it in d3d? it runs like AZZ in d3d with my radeon. aint nuttin wrong with directdraw 🙂

Im running Windows ME with an Elsa Gladiac AGP 32 DDR MB. My processor is 900 Mhz with 768 MB of RAM. The reason I wanted to run it under D3D was it looks better under that mode vs the directdraw. I used to have a voodoo 3 and it ran fine under that. I see if I upgrade to 6.5
Where Can I get 6.5 drivers?

Make absolutey sure you got the new chipset drivers for your chipset. That will fix everything, but make sure you download the one for ur AGP slot, and if you have the VIA chipset you can get the 4in1 drivers which includes everything you need.

Did you make sure that you have the most recent patch for Diablo 2? D3D won't work with GeForce cards in Diablo 2 unless it is patched to version 1.03 or later.

A buddy of mine had the same problem. He installed the NON-Detonator (ie card manufacturer driver) and problem solved.

hope that helps
