Help Desk Exp. count toward CISSP?

I just recently got laid off from an info security job I had for about 3yrs 9months. As I am looking for a new job I see several employers in the info security field wanting CISSP cert.

Does anyone know for sure if help desk experience counts towards the needed 5 year exp. to take the test?

I worked for a help desk for a major bank for 2 years. I've read their requirements but I'm not sure if help desk exp. will count.

Thanks.

Help Desk experience could be applied to the required experience, but it depends on what kind of support you were doing. You will need to be very specific in your description of your work and how it applies. You need to have 5 years experience in at least TWO out of the ten domains, which makes it tough.
For example, if you did any active directory work, created accounts, etc, that could be applied to access control...
It's a REALLY tough test to pass... I'm just glad I got it on my first try...

Agree with Shaotai. You must also be sponsored by another CISSP who should validate your experience.

<== CISSP since 2007
