Well, it's been awhile since I assembled my computer, 2 years to be exact, running AMD 3800+ dual core. So, time to update, I mean to build a new one.
Budget around $1000
no monitor, keyboard, mouse or speakers required.
AMD or Intel system, 2Gb memory, average size disk, win vista ultimate, video card, sound could e onboard.
Primary use is for web design, video (not editing), photoshop, games, business, internet.
Help me out! Thanks in advance

What are you planning on using that you already have? Do you have a case and PSU already? What wattage?

We need more details.

the one that I have I'll give to my little brother, so no components will be used from the present one.
Seems like Intel is the way to go right now, judging by what I have read. But i am still open to idea of using AMD processor. So many things chaged in 2 years!

What kinds of games do you intend to play, and at what resolution?

Want to get everything today from newegg, so here is my wishlist:
https://secure.newegg.com/NewV...ndleExist=N&ID=9088287

Still need case, Power supply, HD, Motherboard, DVD-recorder.
Please make recomendations on monitor, memory, and CPU. Need to lower budget a little.
I 'd like to go with 2x2GB memory, planning on Win Vista< next question 32 or 64 bit?
Planning to OC, so please help me select good CPU/MB/Memory combo.
Primary use -> photoshop, web design, dvd recording, multimedia, and of course games.
Thank you.

Killing yourself by buying everything at NewEgg.

Also, the 512MB 8800 GT is faster than the 640MB 8800 GTS (GT is a newer card).

PSU is overkill, bigtime. The Corsair 520W is plenty, and solid. The 8800 GT also uses less power than the 640 GTS card.

Memory is extremely expensive. What kind of overclock do you expect from the Q6600? Remember, at stock speeds, it only needs 533mhz memory. You can get a 4GB kit of DDR2-800 for cheaper than what you are paying for this 2GB kit.

I also do not see an aftermarket cpu cooler. Are you even going to OC?

I do not see a hard drive listed. Need one? If so, check hot deals for a $59 320GB Seagate.

the PS I chose is cheaper than Corsiar after MIR. Does it make sense, or Corsair is more reliable?

That's because you are shopping at the Egg exclusively. ;)
I guess if you don't mind the MIR. Your choice.
