Help (deleting winME in dual boot)

Hello...

I have a dual boot (Win2K/WinMe). I never boot to ME anymore. I have not software installed to the ME OS.

Both OSs are on the same partition. I know that I can just remove the "windows" directory, but how do I get rid of the boot option at startup?

Any help is appreciated.

In notepad, open "C:\boot.ini" and delete the line that mentions WinME. You can also delete the file (bootsect.dos?) that the file refers to. Save boot.ini (may be read-only, make it writeable first) and enjoy.

how you mangage to install ME and Win2k? i tried and win2k won't install get errors saying it cannot install the boot loader or it is not able to identify my version of windows. did u install win2k first by anychance and then just install win2k or did u have to do some funky stuff like install win98 then win2k and then upgrade to me?

any help would be appreciaed please send ame a private messege.

Booting from the Win2K CD (versus starting the install from WinME) worked for me, I think. It's been so long now, as I was beta testing WinME back in Nov. 99 and didn't get Win2K until January.
