I'm building a pc from scratch and I need to decide between rather to order the I7-3770K from a friend from the U.S in late May with a discount that he has from Intel for just 169$+shipping. or wait for my uncle to arrive from China in July and he will be able to bring me the I7-4770K for 322$ or i5-4570K for 232$.
Thanks for your help.

Grab a 3770k or a AMD FX8350 and also important is your video card as CS6 takes advantage of that. It uses OpenGL things are very fast......

grab a 16GB kit min......also have SSD. gl

By all means get the 3770K, unless you are doing something by ordering through a friend that could get him into trouble with the company.

Although I personally would just go with the 3770k for the uses you describe, as the gains will not be impressive, how important is cost to you? If you like to be on the edge and get the best of everything, it'd be worthwhile, if you like a good deal, definitely the 3770k is more bang for the buck.

I got a 3770k for $229.99+tax from MicroCenter and thought it was a deal. If you can get one for $169.99 + s/h I'd Definitely get that!

At those prices I'd say get the 3770k.

Or, at those prices I'd say get the 3770k and re-sell it as an unopened retail 3770k for $225-$250, then apply the profits towards lowering the final purchase price of a 4770k that you buy from your uncle in July.

The problem with getting an i7-4770K is that the motherboard will be outrageously expensive for the first month or two. The savings (even by resale of that cheap i7-3770K) will easily be canceled out by that.

Wow so much replays! thanks guys! I think acctually I rather deside between i5-4570K and i7-3770K. Oh and I forgot to mention that I live in Israel and I asked my cousin to bring me a video card because its 194$ chipper then here, so I'll need to wait anyway and not be able to play nicely for 3 months as a result (I still have HD4870).
Is the i5-4670K will be better then i7-3770K?
What about the Z78 boards and new chipset are they better then the current?
In June there won't be any cheaper not hi-end mobos?

Better in what aspect? The Core i5 4670K might be better if the software only uses 4 threads while the Core i7 3770K is still superior if it can use 8 threads. If you could wait for Haswell, then wait, but you still can't go wrong with a Core i7 3770K + Z77 motherboard for your needs. Don't expect prices of older models to drop either. Its either IB now or Haswell later.

Given that haswell is a mere month away or so and it does contain instructions that more than likely will improve Photoshops performance there is a decent chance its worth waiting for. The average IPC improvement might not be very impressive but Photoshop is the sort of application I expect will show large than average gains based on the algorithms it uses. Until we see the full performance figures we can't know for sure, but I think its at least worth waiting until you know what it will perform like to determine if the extra cost is worth it or not.

Certainly the 3770K is worth getting at that price. My joke aside, it could be sold for a tidy profit when and if the time comes to decide if Haswell is worth pursuing. There's no downside that I can see to getting it, whether it will be used long-term or not.

I heard that when the new CPU's will lunch the new motherboards will be expansive for a few months. is it true?
