Question Help deciding between GIGABYTE X470 AORUS Gaming 7 or x570 AORUS PRO wifi

I'm building a new computer for light gaming and 4k video. I already got the 2700x, but I'm trying to decide on motherboard. I don't see much that would make the x570 aorus pro any better (am I missing something) only thing is they are almost the same price, so not sure if it makes more sense to buy the newer model.

Well getting the x570 would be great if you want the faster Gen4 NVM SSD drive. Since you mention 4k video, I would think you would.

Is 4th gen nvme really necessary for 4k video?
I was planning on using a Samsung 970 Evo plus. That seems crazy fast already.

So are there any other reasons to choose either the GIGABYTE X470 AORUS Gaming 7 or x570 AORUS PRO wifi? Anyone know if there is any benefit to the older board or should I just get the newer one since it is newer?

I would probably tend towards getting the newer X570 board myself, for newer builds, even if you're using a 2nd-gen (Ryzen 2000-series) CPU. Because then you could just choose to drop in a Ryzen 3000-series CPU in the future, with no muss, no fuss, and get the benefits of PCI-E 4.0 then. If you went with the older X470 chipset NOW, you might save money NOW, but then when you drop in a 3000-series Ryzen CPU, you'll have to mess with BIOS updates, and then, if you want PCI-E 4.0 to be actually supported, you'll STILL have to buy an X570 (or newer, by then) mobo anyways.
