Deciding between 2 case.

NZXT S340 Price is $43 after discount

Fractal Define S is about $61 after discount

I would be purchasing an extra 140mm or 2 to fit into both cases.
Is there that much of a difference between the two to have a 18 dollar diff?

Would you choose one over the other if so why?

Currently running

I5 2500k
XFX R9 280x
XFX TS550
2 x 3.5" HDD
1 x SSD
Stock Cooler ~ thinking about getting a Hyper 212 EVO.

I'd go with the Define S (even if the S340 looks more elegant), for the following reasons:

The S340 can have: 2 front 140mm fans, a top 140, and a rear 120. So 4 fan slots, while
Define S can have: Three front 140s, 3 top 140s, a rear 140, a bottom 140, and a side 140 (if you don't want a window), so a total of 9 fan slots

S340 comes with 2 120mm fans while the Define S comes with 2 140's. If you are going to buy a 140mm fan or two, the define S has more choices.

Plus, the define S is larger than S340 and has a specially built system for water cooling (if you ever plan to change to water cooling).

I just went through this choice and I chose the Thermaltake F51. It's even bigger and still completely modular, sound deadening, etc. Has a filter on the top not just the front/bottom. Has a 200mm intake. Pretty much any fan or radiator configuration will fit in the front or top of the case. The windowed version is $55 after MIR.

That looks like a pretty nice case for the price. Especially with that $30 rebate.

The F51 is $55 after rebate or $51 through Jet after Amex Promo.

You get what you pay for tho...while the F51 is cheap and seems like a cheap Fractal Define, it is a cheap Fractal knockoff - with thinner panels and so-so quality control. Helped a friend build in one. We're still friends, but just.

The Define S - because the quality is so much better. Worth the extra $10. My 2 cents.

Didn't the Define S only come out a few months before the f51?

Anyway, not saying you're wrong but the f51 does weigh 6lbs more too. Where's the weight going?

Doing my research prior to buying there's a large number of butthurt fractal fanboys who despise thermaltake. Not saying you're one.

Ordered from Jet.com Can't wait to move away from my Antec. Cable management is a nightmare for this case.

I hope it comes from newegg.
