I recieved my new kt333 soyo dragon plus! today in the mail. I hooked it all up turned it on, nothing. Reset the cmos turned it on, got some video after a long time, just some wieird soyo screen, had there website on it. Then shut it off again because i wanted to get into the bios. After that I have restarted it and reset it a million times and nothing. No video, no beeps, nothing. I have tried switching the cpus and does nothing. I have tried switching the video card and power supply, still nothing. The Cpu fan turns everything seeems to work, just no video. I have already requested an RMA for the board, but what do you guys thing is wrong? I dont want to send it back to them and have them tell me its fine. thanks!

check if the baord is isolated from the case. It is a good habbit to hook the baord before installing it in the case IF you have the right setup. What about your memory? What kind of vedio card you have? What king of power supply? Boot the baord without graphics, does it beep? it should beep. If it does, then it is not shot dead yet.

how do i boot the board isolated from the case? doesnt it have to be properly grounded?

I have a 3dprophet 2 gts pro 64mb, i also tried it with my ti4200

as for memory i have 512mb of corsair xms 2700. The power supply is a POWERUP switching powersupply 350w. Does the speaker have to be plugged in, or will the board beep? I ask because i tried pulling the memory out and seeing if it would beep and it didnt.

Hi Tony4704, and welcome to the forums. 🙂

Remove board from case and lay it on the foam pad that came in the box. Hook up power supply connections,
install ram and video card, short power switch pins (temporarily) with a small regular screw driver. See if it boots. Its also a good idea to plug in speaker for beep codes.

"doesnt it have to be properly grounded" not to the case
"Does the speaker have to be plugged in" yes, the board won't beep unless it has a speaker built in.

Have you tested one or both video cards in another system to make sure they are good??

Your PSU might be the problem, never heard of a Powerup before. What model is it??
I'd suggest a quality name brand unit such as Antec, Enermax, Sparkle.

ok, ill try that, thx! Yes, both video cards work. I took the PSU that is in the new case, hooked it up to my older AMD system and it boot that system just fine.

I apologize that I didn't notice you are new 🙂 to the forum,

Just do what shootin told you to do. The main thing is to test one thing at a time. Make sure you get the beeps out of that thing. If you don't then your board is in serious situation and you should call 911 :clock: Make sure there is NO short=(electrical connection/path through small resistance (a wire or a screw)) between your board and the case.

After the boards is Beeping, add in the things one at a time (I'm assuming that the RAM and CPU are tested some where else) and make sure the graphics is the last thing you add.

Try to check the CPU fan, the power supply fan, and any other fans. They should all spin real good. If your powe supply is really really bad, then one of the fans (most probably the 120mm fans if any) would not turn if there is a huge drop in the voltage from supply. This is an indication of shory of some sort.

I didn't work with any Soyo boards before, so, beyond this I can't really give much more than this...for now.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Do you have an enermax case? My friend got one and it came with a powerup power supply... the thing wasn't too bad so i wouldn't worry to much about your power supply, especially since it worked in your other system. I would definitely check for a shot, that sounds like the most likely problem that you could be having here. If not, then it is definitely time for an rma.

ok took the board out and sat it on its antistatic bag that it came with. reset the cmos.... Plugged in the PSU and the speaker, no ram, no video card.....absolutley no beeps! all fans spinning good. so does that make the mb bad? its just weird that i got video once. The board must have been screwed and then died soon after.

Looking through the manual, the only other thing I see is that there are 2 CPU fan headers.

The manual says "Make sure CPU fan is connected to CPUFAN 1 connector". If thats where
you've had it connected, try #2. If that doesn't work I'm afraid its RMA time.
