Greetings! I recently bought 2 GSkill RipjawX 8x1 GB DDR3-1600 (PC3-12800) CL9-9-9-24 1.50 Volt to update my system. But I had a problem. I updated my Mother Bios and put em in other slots but my computer didn't identify em. Before I had a couple of OCZ DDR3 2x2 GB 666mhz, and when I put all the ram together (OCZ and GSkill) they work but with the original latency (666mhz) of the OCZ, also my OS in System specs only recognize the original OCZ 4GB. How can I do so my computer recognize my new couple of GSkill? I really need help! Thanks and sorry for my english.

My OS with the Piriform Speccy program (that recognize all the memory but with low latency)

Your problem, is that you need to upgrade your CPU / mobo to a G3258 and a combo mobo, in order to use your RAM.

No, but seriously, this is a dated 775 X48 rig. They (AFAIK) will not take 8GB DDR3 DIMMs (4GB max DIMM size), and they certainly won't let them run at DDR3-1600. You'll be lucky to get DDR3-1066 or 1333 running.

Have you tried removing the 4GB OCZ DIMMs, and putting just the two 8GB DIMMs in?

There may be an overall memory limit for the chipset too, although I don't know what that is for the X48. It may be 8GB, it may be 16GB.

Good luck!

That might actually be a good sign, if Speccy is reporting 20GB of RAM.

I would double-check, that in Control Panel, System, System, that it shows that you have a 64-bit OS installed, and then bring up MSCONFIG.EXE, and make sure that "Limit Maximum memory to:" is UNCHECKED.

RAMPAGE EXTREME - Specifications

Memory
4 x DIMM, Max. 8 GB, DDR3 2000(O.C.)/1800(O.C.)/1600/1333/1066/800 ECC,Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel memory architecture
*Overclock speed
- Supports Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP)
- For the X.M.P. support, CPUs with FSB 1333 or above are recommended.
- When installing total memory of 4GB capacity or more, Windows® 32-bit operation system may only recognize less than 3GB. Hence, a total installed memory of less than 3GB is recommended.

I glanced at the available BIOS updates and it doesn't list anything that would suggest that the max memory size had increased. I'd have to believe that the board only supports 4 x 2GB for a total of 8GB.

The OCZ memory is DDR3-1333. It's being reported as 666 because that is the real mhz. DDR means double data rate, so 666x2 = 1333.
