Help:D corsair XMS 2gb

Hi all,

I'm a bit stuck, i have been searching the forums for hours, but cant find an answer.

I have some corsair XMS twinx ram which i brought awhile ago (2x512mb) (3200C2 platinum). (on an amd 64bit 3200 system with the k8t neo mobo).

I thought this was pretty good ram (was expensive🙂, but now as i check the timings, its 3-3-3-8, this sounds bad?.

Now i want to upgrade to 2GB ram, i am thinking of adding a 1GB stick of corsair 1GB DDR XMS3200PT(400MHz DDR). , which apparently has a speed of 4-4-4-8 or simular?.

So will this upgrade auctally slow me down?. are these memory timings ok for 2GB of XMS?.

I thought i was buying good ram, i picked the XMS plat over the value ram, but i don't understand why the latency on all of these is so high?.

the main use is for future games, and current memory hogs, video editing, ect.

Thanks for any help.

Also to add i want to buy another GB of ram tomorrow (model mentioned above) i really just want to get some of your views on if the 1gb of 3-3-3-4 XMS is a good upgrade on top of my 2x512 of corsair 3-3-3-4.

or if the cas is too high (or is it normal?) for a 1GB stick on ram.

Thanks
