I've been using DSL phone line internet speed at 300KBS for more than 10 years. We are now cutting home phones because everyone uses cellphones nowadays, so that means DSL had to go too.

What are over internet alternative providers besides phone lines DSL at a good price?

We had a home phone for 18 years. Our cell phones became much more popular and the home phone wasn't worth the $20 a month. We didn't want to lose our home phone number as many of our distant friends and relatives had this number so we moved to Google Voice. After the initial charge of about $40 to switch over, the month rate is FREE. It can be used as voicemail, but mainly we just forward any home calls to our cell phone. A great alternative and there are many great options associated with Google voice. Highly recommended.

Depending on your data plan for the cell; consider using your cell as the connection.
Cable
FIOS
Sattelite

"Good Price" is relative and subjective

I know with at&t you can get dsl unbundled, no need for a land-line.

when I dropped dsl for at&t uverse i got voip in place of a land line but I didn't have to, I could have just went with uverse internet alone.

<<--- is using ATT DSL Direct (no need for phone service).

$25/month for 6Mb. Not great but doable.

really hard to know unless we know where your from OP.

If you live rurally then satellite is the only option or if you live in a crappy apartment you may be tied to only one or two providers.

How is that not great? Is that a promo price? It's normally around $40/month for that speed.

This...I miss my cable connection that averaged well over 12mb but wasn't available when I built my new house...although I have DirecTV as well so I'm getting it for $20 and still no home phone;)

I mean the current speed compares to other big cities such as LA, DFW, NYC, SF. Those cities have much much faster speed. My ATT DSL is max out at 6 Mb and no FIOS anytime soon. Cable is about 10 Mb but I have to bundle with TV/cable, no pick and choose. And no, I do not live in BFE.

I don't understand what is wrong with 6MB? That's the speed I have and I can watch HD movies all day long.

Yeah i have the same deal with AT&T dy loop DSL. I only pull in like 4.5MB though. But it doesnt really slow me down from doing anything. I can still watch netflix and download things fine. Sometimes i think its just people want to see a bigger number like 15MB but it deosnt really provide much for your average user over 5MB.

lol at everyone who replied. broadband internet options have been the same for the last decade... cable, dsl, satellite, wireless. Depends on local providers.

This thread is no different than someone asking whether the offer from the rich nigerian prince is legit.
